Position: Civil Designer/Sr. Civil Designer

We are currently seeking a Civil Designer/Sr. Civil Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves participating in various stages of project development, including conceptual planning, proposal development, site assessments, detailed design, technical reporting, specification development, and preparation of construction and environmental documentation. You will contribute to a wide array of projects spanning different sectors and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design civil infrastructure projects including site layout, land development, roadways, stormwater systems, utility networks (water and sewer), erosion and sediment control, traffic control systems, airport facilities, and other civil site features.
• Produce detailed drawings and design documentation for complex assignments, involving technical analysis, layout planning, and calculations.
• Utilize standard design procedures and software tools to create and refine civil drawings, interpret rough sketches, and determine component dimensions.
• Update designs and incorporate redlines or modifications based on project progress or client feedback.
• Interpret topographical and geotechnical data from maps, reports, and surveys to inform design decisions.
• Ensure all designs align with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Perform quality checks of design drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance within the defined scope, budget, and timeline.
• Calculate material volumes for tasks such as grading, excavation, and dredging operations.
• Integrate schedules, cost estimates, and design requirements into the planning and layout process.
• Maintain organized records of design revisions, project files, and plot data.
• Carry out other duties as assigned, in line with company standards and policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or a related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; OR
• Associate degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience; OR
• A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in civil design and detailing.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Excel, and other relevant design software.
• Strong technical expertise in civil design, engineering calculations, and drafting systems.
• In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles and working knowledge of related disciplines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
