Demand Planner

Location: Irvine, California

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining accurate demand forecasts using statistical tools and business insights.
  • Analyzing historical bookings, shipment trends, product lifecycle data, promotional plans, and market conditions.
  • Serving as the key demand planning liaison for Marketing, Sales, Finance, IBP Franchise Managers, and Master Schedulers.
  • Leading or facilitating demand planning meetings, including working sessions and Executive Demand Reviews.
  • Documenting assumptions and highlighting risks and opportunities in each monthly forecast cycle.
  • Supporting new product launches and end-of-life product transitions from a demand planning perspective.
  • Collaborating with Forecast Modelers and Analysts to develop insights and KPI reporting tools.
  • Ensuring alignment of demand plans with strategic and financial goals through cross-functional input.
  • Representing the demand function within the IBP process and escalating concerns when needed.
  • Monitoring SKU performance and recommending rationalization opportunities.
  • Driving improvements in forecast accuracy and process efficiency through data-driven recommendations.
  • Supporting demand planning education and training sessions across the organization.
  • Staying current with industry best practices in forecasting and integrating those into planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in demand forecasting, supply chain planning, sales operations, or finance.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and advanced spreadsheet functions (Excel).
  • Experience with ERP and demand planning tools (e.g., Oracle Demantra, Demand Solutions, SteelWedge).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain dynamics.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, IBF CPF, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the medical device or regulated manufacturing industry.
  • Background in new product introductions, supplier performance, or analytics platforms.
  • Experience with BI tools or statistical software.
