Job Description

Our client seeking a Legal Affairs Manager to support their Chief Legal Officer in managing a wide scope of legal responsibilities. This is a mid- to senior-level legal professional who will own day-to-day legal operations, provide cross-functional legal support, and serve as a key connector between legal and compliance functions. The right candidate should be comfortable operating autonomously, managing both tactical and strategic legal work, and partnering with departments like sales, marketing, product development, and global compliance teams.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Contract review and negotiation: Review, revise, and approve a high volume of commercial contracts to ensure compliance with internal standards and mitigate risk.
  • External counsel management: Act as primary liaison with outside counsel across various matters, including intellectual property, litigation, and claims.
  • Regulatory and compliance collaboration: Work closely with compliance, product development, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with evolving legal and industry standards—especially in the consumer products space.
  • Claims and insurance support: Assist with resolving personal injury and property damage claims, and support legal aspects of insurance and facility matters.
  • Documentation and process: Maintain accurate records of legal communications, contribute to internal legal databases, and monitor legal expenses.
  • Global coordination: Support cross-border legal and compliance collaboration with teams in Europe and Asia (no travel required).
  • Product safety and testing: Provide legal insight into product development, safety testing, and documentation review.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of legal affairs or compliance experience , ideally in the consumer products industry . Must have a strong foundation in contract law , risk management , and regulatory compliance .
  • Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally. Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced working with internal business partners and legal counsel.
  • Style: This person should be proactive, collaborative, and able to navigate a wide range of legal tasks without direct supervision.
