Job Description

A dynamic organization is seeking a detail-oriented and solution-driven Paralegal to join its Risk & Contract Operations team . This role supports both legal and operational initiatives related to claims, contract management, dispute resolution, and cross-departmental compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of litigation and transactional experience, with the ability to manage complex workflows and serve as a key liaison across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract & Legal Operations

  • Manage intake, routing, and review of agreements (e.g., vendor, crew placement, intercompany, and hiring contracts).
  • Coordinate contract revisions and redlines with external parties.
  • Track legal metrics related to medical cost, claims, and legal support volume.
  • Develop internal workflows for claim management and department priorities.
  • Maintain files and communication across multiple legal and business platforms.
  • Assist with legal case updates, stakeholder coordination, and department reporting.
  • Support mass tort correspondence and legal settlements.
  • Negotiate final payback terms with health plans and providers.

Litigation & Compliance Support

  • Organize and prepare legal binders, exhibits, and documentation.
  • Assist in dispute resolution prep and coordinate mediations/arbitrations.
  • Gather information from multiple sources to support ongoing matters.
  • Track legal deadlines, manage compliance issues, and proofread legal docs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on legal records and document production.

Leadership & Special Projects

  • Serve as operational point of contact in the Director's absence.
  • Participate in strategic risk and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a legal environment (paralegal work, contract review, or compliance)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with contract workflows and legal documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Preferred

  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate
  • Background in insurance, global HR, or maritime administration
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems
