Job Description

About our Partner:

Our client is a large, vertically integrated farming company located just west of Bakersfield in California’s Central Valley. Specializing in nut production, they manage every step of the process—from cultivation and harvesting to processing and distribution—ensuring quality and consistency at scale. With deep roots in agriculture and a commitment to innovation, they are a respected leader in the region’s farming industry.

What our Partner brings to the table:

Join a respected Central Valley farming company that values its people as much as its product. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy two weeks of vacation, one week of sick time, and nine paid holidays to recharge and take care of what matters most.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Full medical, dental, and vision coverage to support your health and well-being.

  • Collaborative Culture: Experience a casual, down-to-earth environment with direct access to leadership, including the COO.

  • Central Valley Roots: Be part of a team grounded in agricultural tradition, where your contributions truly make an impact.

How you'll contribute to our Partner's success:

As a key member of the agronomy team, you will support the company's chemical and fertilizer programs by managing inventory, procurement, and material allocations. Reporting directly to the Director of Agronomy and overseeing two direct reports, your role will help ensure efficient and cost-effective operations across the farming business.

  • Oversee Chemical and Fertilizer Inventory: Manage centralized warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and timely availability of materials for field operations.

  • Procure Inputs at Competitive Prices: Source and purchase agronomic materials based on recommendations from the agronomist, going out to bid and negotiating the best pricing and terms.

  • Coordinate Material Allocations: Work closely with spray teams to allocate chemicals and fertilizers effectively across various blocks and applications.

  • Lead and Support Staff: Supervise two direct reports, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, accurate record-keeping, and alignment with agronomic plans.
