Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Specialist to support a major LNG facility. This role requires a strong background in both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new construction safety practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical plant environments, and possess the capability to provide field-based safety support across a dynamic, multi-phase project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and oversight of safety programs during both construction and operational phases of the LNG plant.
  • Conduct site safety audits, hazard assessments, and field observations to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Collaborate with construction managers, operations personnel, and contractors to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks tailored to construction and O&M crews.
  • Monitor and enforce contractor compliance with project safety requirements.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on safety metrics and incidents.
  • Be available and willing to work up to 7 days/week, 12-hour shifts, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of safety experience in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, or LNG facilities.
  • Proven experience supporting both O&M and new construction safety.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk assessments, and best practices in industrial safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with various teams and stakeholders.

Certifications (Preferred but not required):

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
  • Bachelor of Science in Safety, Engineering, or a related field

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be local to the area – no per diem or relocation offered.
  • Must be physically capable of working outdoors in an industrial environment.
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks and drug screening.
