Silviculture Forester – Tumwater, Washington

Port Blakely is looking for a Silvicultural Forester to join our team based in Tumwater, Washington. The Silvicultural Forester is responsible for administering silvicultural activities throughout the Port Blakely ownership in both Washington and Oregon, ensuring the value growth of the company by establishing vigorous young forests. You will work with the Silvicultural Manager and contractors to plan, permit and carry out spray and fertilizer projects, reforestation efforts, hardwood slashing, survival surveys, and Pre-Commercial Thinning operations in a hands-on supervisory manner. Flexibility with logistics and planning is key in this role. Variability of the weather and contractor availability require flexible plans and quick decision making when conditions change.
As part of our Resources Team, you will report to the Silviculture Manager.This role primarily works out of our office in Tumwater, Washington with some travel to Oregon and spends a good amount of time in the field.
