Job Description

Title: Social Media Specialist

Contract: 13 weeks- June 9th 2025-September 6th 2025

Location: Milwaukee WI. Mostly remote but will have to come on site and to events 4-5 times a month, all events will be in the Milwaukee area

Notes: will need to occasionally be on call as needed per manager to monitor social media platforms (on call requirement will be rotated between team members)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Content Creation: Develop and execute compelling content aligned with our clients social media strategy. This includes crafting engaging posts, designing eye-catching graphics and producing videos tailored for platforms like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Brand Messaging: Maintain a consistent and authentic brand voice across all social media channels. Write and edit content that resonates with our audience while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Engagement and Community Management: Monitor social media channels, respond to audience interactions, and foster a positive online community. Address inquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Creative Collaboration : Work closely with the communications and marketing teams to brainstorm and execute innovative campaigns and initiatives that enhance our digital footprint.
  • Quality Control : Proofread and edit all social media content to ensure accuracy and alignment with our brand’s standards.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Posting and Engagement: Regularly share compelling content across Advocate Health’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.) to highlight our teammates and services, boost engagement and build our reputation. Generate buzz around marketing campaigns, recruitment, internal teammate initiatives and organizational priorities to keep our community informed.
  • Content Creation : Craft daily posts and implement targeted ad campaigns with professionally branded visuals that inspire action. Create a variety of content, including educational videos, engaging infographics, storytelling posts and videos to drive our goals and engage our audience.
  • On-Location Content Production: Travel to various locations in the Milwaukee area to capture fresh, relevant content that aligns with current trends and our evergreen messaging, ensuring our social media feeds are always vibrant and up-to-date.
  • Community Management: Actively monitor our social media channels to maintain a positive community atmosphere. Address comments, reviews and inquiries promptly to foster meaningful interactions and resolve concerns through the Sprout Social Media Platform.
  • Industry Insight and Innovation : Stay on top of the latest social media trends and best practices. Contribute to the strategic direction of our brand’s social media presence and participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative, effective engagement strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field
  • Typically requires 2-3 years of experience in social media (preferred) and external communications and marketing strategy.
  • Experience in different social media platforms as related to content management, example would be SPROUT, video editing (CAPCUT).
  • Experience in CANVA or any graphic creation program or design (not required)
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in designing graphics and videos for various social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must have own tools for content capture such as phone, or video camera
