Job Description

Summary (Position Description: The Warehouse Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and staging. This role includes personnel scheduling, maintaining inventory accuracy, and tracking key warehouse metrics such as order fulfillment and shipping/receiving accuracy.

Reports To: Operations Manager

Essential Duties and Tasks:

1. Oversee daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, staging, and inventory control.

2. Plan and oversee warehouse personnel schedules to optimize workflow and ensure timely order fulfillment.

3. Monitor inventory transactions, conduct cycle counts, and implement process improvements to reduce discrepancies.

4 Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of shipments, ensuring on-time order fulfillment and proper documentation.

5 Analyze key metrics such as shipping accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and inventory control to enhance warehouse efficiency.

6 Implement and maintain warehouse safety programs, including 6S practices, to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

7 Assist in establishing operational processes for new warehouse locations as the company expands.

8 Ensure warehouse operations align with overall customer service objectives, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management – Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and staging, with expertise in ERP systems (Acumatica preferred) and warehouse management software. Skilled in maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting and process improvements.

• Leadership & Team Management – Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise warehouse personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and high performance. Skilled in scheduling, training, and enforcing workplace policies to optimize productivity.

• Process Improvement & Problem-Solving – Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements, and enhance overall warehouse performance. Skilled in using performance metrics and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

• Safety & Compliance – In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, 6S workplace organization, and internal inventory control policies. Ability to enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, compliant, and secure warehouse environment.

• Technical & Communication Skills – Proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and barcode scanning systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and leadership.

• Organization & Adaptability – Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs, including supporting new warehouse setups and expansions while maintaining customer service excellence

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 - 8 years warehouse experience with at least 3 years supervisory/management experience

• Extensive knowledge of inventory control with ability to define and implement process improvements; demonstrated results in previous positions (cycle count accuracy, order fulfillment, and delivery accuracy improvements)

• Experienced in utilization of ERP (we use Acumatica) systems

• Computer literate including Smartsheet, Excel and the rest of MS Office Suite

• Strong problem solving, independent decision making, and analytical thinking

• Leadership skills to always maintain a highly motivated and efficient department

• Strong communications skills, commitment to quality, and demonstrated leadership

• Experience with electronic components is a big plus

• Bar coding/Scanning knowledge a plus

Work Environment:

• This job is performed in a professional office and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Work time will be spent in a standard office environment with manufacturing plant exposure. Travel is required when necessary, including international requiring a valid driver license. Temperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions. You are required to wear PPE at all times when on the Manufacturing floor such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.

Physical Demands:

• The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. This position is active and may require kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing. At times you will be required to travel to Customer sites which include Machine Rooms, Mechanical Houses and/or Commercial and Industrial facilities, which at times requires roof access via ladder and/or stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis.
