Position: Construction Project Manager - Custom Home Builder

Location: Portland, Southern Maine

Contract: Full-time / Hybrid

About the Role...

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the finest, custom home builders in New England.

This builder has an enviable reputation for building & remodeling the most prestigious homes, and are now looking for a high-powered Project Manger to be part of a new and exciting expansion!

You will play a pivotal role in delivering first class projects in the area, that could range from small to large renovation projects, to ultra high-end, ground-up homes for the most discerning clients.

What would be expected of you...

The Project Manager would be responsible for the management of all aspects of a construction renovation and/or ground-up project to ensure its success, such as, contracts, resources, documentation, financial performance, risk management and client satisfaction. This individual actively cultivates strong, trust-based relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors, and thrives on organization, communication and being extremely detailed in all aspects of their work. The project manager will lead the projects in day-to-day operations, with each project having a Site Supervisor. The successful candidate must have a growth mindset and have ambitions to develop with the company into a leadership role!

What will you need to succeed....

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices
  • Experience with residential construction estimating.
  • Ability to manage client relationships through the full project lifecycle and beyond.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam and PROCORE or other construction management software
  • Strong understanding of budgets, change management, profit/loss and risk management
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions balancing quality with budget and schedule requirements
  • Manage teams of multiple stakeholders, to perform at their highest level to ensure successful outcomes for all
  • Ability to lead a fast-paced project team with a sense of urgency and collaboration
  • Understand quality craftsmanship, constructability, and scheduling
  • Ability to flourish in ever changing and, at times, ambiguous environment
  • Skilled at conflict resolution and relationship management
  • Ability to build and maintain a high level of trust with clients, architects, and subcontractors
  • 5+ years’ experience in high-end residential construction
  • Growth mindset and desire to move to a full divisional leadership and responsibility role.
  • Ability and desire to lead internal project teams of project managers and superintendents.

Willingness to attend business development and industry events outside of regular business hours.

What's on offer...

Competitive Pay - Base range $100k-$140k (dependent upon experience)
